Lionel Osmin & Cie - Villa Beaurivage
Profile : A blend of Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc and a touch of Gros Manseng, selected from the heart of various French Southwest wine producing areas, “Villa Beaurivage” is an elegant, fresh and fruity white wine. Deep and complex, both crispy and rich, its distinctive style means it can be combined with numerous dishes from international cuisine. It was while we were walking along the Atlantic Coast beaches, with its old fashioned family homes facing the sea, that the blend’s name came to us: Villa Beaurivage...

Lionel Osmin & Cie - Villa BeaurivageViticulture : Grape varieties : 60% Colombard, 20 % Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Gros Manseng

Terroir : More than certain type of authenticity, it is a type of style we have sought to create with the blending of this dry white, with grapes from different wine producing areas of the French Southwest. Indeed, the grape varieties employed have aromatic similarities but produce a great deal of complementary structure:
- Colombard produces fresh crispy wines
- Sauvignon Blanc brings softness and richness
- Gros Manseng adds structure and opulence

Climate : The batches chosen for our blend are all under oceanic influence (Gascony), with the exception of certain Sauvignon Blanc which may come from warmer areas (such as Gaillac or Bergerac).

Vinification and aging : Machine harvesting from early September for the Sauvignon Blancs and until mid- October for Gros Manseng. Skin contact maceration 8 to 18 hours before progressive, gentle pressing. The grape varieties are separated into tanks for fermentation. Control over fermentation - especially temperature - is indispensable to getting the aromatic intensity of our blend. Blending of the different batches at the end of alcoholic fermentation. No malolactic fermentation, to keep the wine's freshness. Aging on fine lees for four months. First bottling in early spring, storage in temperature controlled stainless steel vats.

Tasting : Brilliant clear colour with yellow tints. Expressive, fruity nose with notes of citrus fruits (pink grapefruit, lemon) and exotic fruits (litchis, etc.). Lively, airy on the palate, with even fruity notes. The freshness of this wine means it can be enjoyed with all types of seafood dishes, in summer and winter.

Serving, food & wine combinations :
- Ideal temperature: 12°C
- Aging potential: 18 months.
- Food & wine combinations: Fresh, fruity and elegant, this dry white wine combines with many dishes, including the following from French cuisine: as an aperitif, tapas, fish soup, smoked salmon, seafood salads, grilled fish, shellfish and crustaceans, mussels, oysters, battered and fried squid, monkfish, sushi, spicy cuisines, fresh goat cheese, etc.
